Madam, – Congratulations on the fascinating Wild Irelandspecial report supplement (May 21st).
I was intrigued to see details about the dragonfly which is found here, but not the UK: the Irish Bluet. I take it this name was not a naturalist’s waggish yet downbeat comment on the economy. A more positive name might have been “The Irish Dragon’s Den-fly”.
Let’s see the clean ponds and small lakes half full rather than half empty.
