What earns an emigrant the right to vote on matters which will most likely never affect them? I have many relatives who live abroad and while they are lovely people, they have no need to be consulted on who my government should be.
To bring “votes for emigrants” to its logical conclusion . . . some years ago I moved house from Dublin city to Dublin county – should I still have a vote for the Dublin City Council?
