An ghaeilge agus an Post

Sir, - I'm writing this letter in English in case An Post does not understand it. I addressed a letter from London to a person in Ring, Co Waterford, in Irish informing her when I would arrive to stay for the Oireachtas. I arrived before the letter, even though I had sent it by air mail. The letter had a London postmark, October 20th, and a Ring stamp, October 26th. I arrived on the morning of October 27th. I don't blame the local postman, but it shows up the "Irish Tiger", and is not helping the economy.

I addressed the envelope "Bothar na Sop, An Rinn, Co Port Lairge, Eire". I expect the English Post Office sent it to Dublin, so why the delay? The Dublin Sorting Office should have shown date of arrival. Does writing the address in Irish delay delivery? - Is mise,
