Sir, - With bemusement I listened to and watched the antics of the Co Louth anti-nuclear pressure group and the corresponding antics of Government and Opposition vying with each other to see who could better waste the taxpayers' money.
Cases of this nature are dubious - because if there is a cluster of cancers in Louth related to Sellafield, there should be even higher numbers of clusters in the Isle of Man, Cumbria, Northumbria and the Scottish Lowlands. Dubious also because a spokesperson for the group aspires to a "zero acceptable level of radiation". If the Government is going to fund them, then presumably the Government or indeed any other citizen will not object when Scotland, Norway and Denmark sue the ESB and demand the shutdown of its carcinogen producing, sulphur dioxide laden, acid rain providing, coal-burning stations. - Yours, etc.,
Mill Road, Mornington, Co Meath.
