Sir, - Could anybody, anywhere, be able to say why private householders should have their houses inundated with "junk mail"? - and I mean mail. The postman now delivers this unwanted supply of advertisements, which in my case goes straight into the bin.
How many trees are cut down for the manufacture of all this rubbish? Who pays for this delivery the GPO? Or is this the reason why the cost of the TV licence has been raised?
This morning (October 25th) five different leaflets and booklets were deposited in my letter box and not one single item of private correspondence. I strongly resent all this waste. Yours, etc.,
