Sir, – The endless coverage of Conor McGregor and his retirement that never was – a publicity stunt by a master of the game – is tiresome ("I am not retired", April 22nd).
Despite the fact that he is a talented athlete, although in a highly questionable sport, his attitude to women in his statements is old-fashioned and ugly. He boasts that he will make his next opponent “cry like a little girl”, and that he will not take part in some interview by a lady who doesn’t care but just wants a pay raise for her “little tight ass”.
MMA is barbaric, and is only matched by the crass and sexist sentiments which McGregor is happy to commit to print. – Yours, etc,
