Madam, – The Bank of Ireland has built up a superb art collection. Each of these 2,000 pieces is significant in itself, but it is as a whole that they have an importance and value that should not be underestimated, and so should not be split up.
The people of Ireland have given hugely to all of the banks. How about the banks donate their art collections to the State for permanent exhibition in public buildings for the enjoyment of all? – Yours, etc,
