Madam, – Fintan O’Toole’s revealing recollections of his early church role (My Other Life, Summer Living, July 14th) made worthwhile reading. As to his musing on how he might have become a priest, he repeatedly refers to such a calling merely as a “job”, no notion of vocation appears. Finally, Mr O’Toole alludes to his own “articles of faith”. Alas, however, he declines to spell them out for us. Interested readers will just have to guess! – Yours, etc,
