Madam, - I am researching the portrait and landscape painter, A.R. Baker (1865-1939), who was from Southampton but settled in Belfast around 1890. A well-known figure in the local art world, he taught for many years at the School of Art and was a member of the Belfast Art Society and Ulster Academy of Arts. I should be most grateful to hear from any of your readers owning examples of his work. Any replies will be treated in the strictest confidence. - Yours, etc.,
Dr EILEEN BLACK,
Curator of Fine Art,
