Madam, - I am writing to try to express a week's worth of sheer ecstasy provoked by the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and its wonderful conductor, Mr Gerhard Markson.
Mr Markson's enormous undertaking of all nine Beethoven symphonies in one week left my colleagues and I in awe of the two great artists. He gave life to Beethoven's masterpieces in a way I have never before heard.
Congratulations, Mr Markson, Mr Tinney, the orchestra and all involved. You did Beethoven proud. - Yours, etc,
