Sir, - In the ongoing debate about the use of this term, the fact that the sea between Britain and Ireland is called the "Irish Sea" has been mentioned. I am sure that the good people of Britain would not begrudge us a little bit of sea. After all, we never had a grand empire on which the sun never set.
Nevertheless, perhaps we should change the name of the sea to the "British Sea". Maybe then Britain would be less keen to dump all its nuclear waste in it. - Yours, etc.,
