Madam, – The most serious aspect of the decision by Dublin City Council to ban peak-time traffic in College Green is that 25 city councillors did not bother to attend this crucial meeting (“Council approves ‘bus gate’ plan to ban cars from College Green”, May 12th).
It would be interesting to know how many of the absentee councillors are currently seeking re-election and, if so, how they can justify their non-attendance at Monday night’s meeting. – Yours, etc,
