Sir, - With regard to carnage on our roads, your Editorial (July 26th), has one omission i.e. the use of hand-held mobile phones while driving.
I work in the centre of Dublin and every day I see people driving, sometimes through busy junctions, while using hand-held mobile phones.
I suspect that some people even use phones while travelling at speed on main roads. This must surely contribute to number of deaths on our roads.
Using hand-held mobile phones while driving should be made as unacceptable as drink driving. - Yours, etc.,
