Sir, - John Henahan (November 3rd) rightly asks if the absence, for over four days, of a letter attacking Mr Kevin Myers is a record. In that regard I note that a letter of mine, submitted to your good self in October and critical of Mr Myers, was not published. Records, as I am sure you will agree, should be based on fair competition, and on a level playing pitch. Possibly you might be able to clarify the rules of the competition in order that everyone may know how to enter? I am especially concerned that my own letter may not have attacked Mr Myers strongly enough to warrant publication. - Yours, etc., Dr Brian P. Murphy,

Glenstal, Co Limerick.
