Sir, - I would like to draw your readers' attention to the subheading on my article on Central Africa yesterday. The situation in Central Africa is very complex. I had hoped to paint an objective picture of the current situation, outlining the historical background to the conflict, and detailing the motivations behind the involvement of various different groups in the current conflict.
I regret the subheading which was put on my article. It was most unfortunate that my argument was reduced to a highly subjective statement which seemed, to put the blame for the current situation on the Government of Rwanda. It is only one of many groups involved in this conflict, and in the past two years has shown much patience while waiting for the international community to address the many issues outstanding since the genocide of 1994.
