Madam, – It puzzles me why everyone views Ireland’s corporation tax as one that can only be adjusted upwards. If this rate of 12.5 per cent is seen as being so desirable by foreign companies setting up headquarters here, and this works for us and them, then surely we would attract more investment if we reduced it?
If other EU countries have no problem reducing their corporation tax rates, then I presume this is a perfectly legitimate alternative for the Irish. – Yours, etc,
