Sir, – I have heard many arguments for and against the practice of putting the clocks back by an hour during winter. However, perhaps the best argument was voiced by my one-year-old son who, clearly having failed to understand the significance of the time change, has woken his mother and me an hour earlier than usual every morning since Sunday. On behalf of all parents of young children, I would beseech the Government to act quickly and do away with this irritating exercise. – Yours, etc,
