Madam, - The new Christmas tree on O'Connell Street resembles bails of razor wire mounted on a toilet cubicle, with as much festive cheer as a dentist's drill.
Unfortunately there has been a trend in recent years for Christmas decorations to be dull, Spartan and minimalist, removing the bright colours and glitter which are so wondrous to young children.
Next year can we please have a traditional tree with bright lights and gaudy decorations, with a traditional crib? - Yours, etc,
