Madam, – The Good News of Jesus has again been besmirched by the pharisaic legalism of the Irish bishops in the matter of child protection (Home News, May 12th).
The Catholic Church that claims Jesus Christ as its founder is not following in His footsteps as He always valued children and demanded they be respected. It is hiding behind a veil of secrecy and legalism and is again placing the institution of the church over its most vulnerable members. Besides being unreformable, it is now irredeemable. – Yours, etc,
