Sir, - While passing through St Stephen's Green today on a 46B bus, I happened to see what appeared to be a photo opportunity with TDs Bertie Aherne and Ben Briscoe posing for the assembled media. I counted five vehicles, all proudly bearing the words "Ben Briscoe TD Fianna Fail" and the party logo, all illegally parked.
Can I ask the candidate if it is part of his election manifesto that Dubliners be allowed to park wherever they like without regard for Dublin Corporation bye laws? Or does he believe that sitting TDs on the campaign trail are exempt from such laws? Also, while ordinary Dubliners are in the grip of fear of the clampers, how is it that Deputy Briscoe is confident enough to park his campaign vehicles in such a manner? - Yours, etc., David Stewart,
