Madam, - I am starting a campaign against the policies of Dublin City Council in regard to the clamping of cars.
The city council is mainly interested in the money it can make from the traffic problem. It has no actual solutions.
The car is an essential part of present-day life. Yet the city has failed to provide adequate car-parks, has failed to build enough car-parking blocks, and has failed to provide adequate alternative forms of transport.
The council will pretend to be concerned about traffic, but the real aim is to milk this system for all it can get in terms of parking fees and the sale of the clamping rights to a private contractor.
