Madam, - I am pleased to report that, contrary to Tom Neville's claim (July 6th), Temple Bar is not "awash with vomit".
In fact, as a busy city-centre area that sees heavy daytime and night-time use, Temple Bar regularly scores highly in Tidy Towns competitions and in surveys for Irish Business Against Litter.
Thanks to the extra cleaning services provided by TASCQ (Traders in the Area Supporting the Cultural Quarter), whose members are drawn from the hospitality, retail and cultural sectors, Temple Bar is one of the cleanest parts of Dublin city. TASCQ was also instrumental in developing the "fag-vac" machine to remove cigarette butts from cobblestoned streets. - Yours, etc,
WILLIE WHITE, Director, TASCQ, Project Arts Centre, Dublin 2.
