Madam, – Bob Haugh’s call (December 24th) to airline companies to provide an incentive to no-shows to cancel their reservations could be met by automatically refunding tax and airport passenger charges on cancellation. This should be regular practice, not merely during periods of travel disruption.
The seat would then be available for resale, benefiting both the airline and passengers who might otherwise be unable to make the trip. – Yours, etc,
