A chara, - Diarmuid Byrne (October 31st) says that the tough decisions taken by Brian Cowen, in a Budget that "had to be tough" (emphasis his), mark him as a leader. I beg to differ.
A true leader would not have waited until such decisions "had" to be made, but would rather have made such choices when they should have been made. That opportunity was missed, and we are now all paying for the lack of foresight by Fianna Fáil and those who voted for it. - Is mise,
