SEAMUS LYNCH,
Madam, - Every day millions of young children are deposited in crêches all over the world. How many parents take the time to get to know the crêche staff intimately? Could they say with 100 per cent confidence that their minders are trustworthy?
The outpouring of judgmental nonsense in the aftermath of the recent Michael Jackson documentary shows how hypocritical some people can be. Very few people know the man, yet far too many have been making strong statements about his character which imply they do. Surely it is the business of parents to decide who they leave or don't leave their parents with, whether that child minder is the local crêche owner or a reclusive celebrity.
Many of the people who seem so concerned with the welfare of children in Jackson's care have no problem with strangers minding their own. - Yours, etc.,
SEAMUS LYNCH,
