A chara, - The Irish language and its community of speakers have made great strides in recent years - through legislation, Irish-medium education, broadcasting, etc. But without the establishment of new Irish-speaking communities the potential for further development will not be realised.
For this reason Baile is seeking to establish vibrant new communities where the majority of residents will speak Irish as their everyday language of choice.
We are currently undertaking research, with the support of Foras na Gaeilge, to measure the needs of the Irish-language community and find out more about what type of housing and community Irish speakers are interested in.
We encourage anyone who is interested in this important project to contact us through our website www.bailegaelach.com. - Is mise,
RÓNÁN MAC MURCHAIDH, Cathaoirleach, Baile, c/o Coill Rua, Dúchasán, Drong, Co an Chabháin.
