Madam, - I could not agree more with Sinead O'Dwyer's letter of August 1st, pointing out the €10 extra ticket charge for the Cork-Waterford replay. In addition, Cork GAA supporters have to pay to watch the footballers on Saturday before shelling out again to see the hurlers on Sunday.
Why does the GAA need to take monetary advantage of the passionate Rebel County support? - Is mise,

Madam, - Is it too much to hope that the GAA Central Committee will reconsider holding next weekend's hurling fixtures at Croke Park? Would a regional venue not be more appropriate? Such an arrangement would obviously make things easier for participating counties' fans. And those of us living in Leinster would benefit from reduced bank holiday traffic, more parking spaces, etc. Moreover, environmental damage from traffic-related carbon emissions would be lessened. - Yours, etc,
