Sir, – Thank you for John Green’s plea for inclusiveness in the many commemorations that lie ahead (“Decade of centenaries must respect all factions”, Opinion Analysis, December 27th). His references to adjoining and shared graves in Glasnevin and to Daniel O’Connell’s insistence that the cemetery be open to the dead of all religions and none, should help us to embrace the diversity that Pól Ó Muirí, in the same edition, both exemplifies and calls for.
“That sharpest of editors” Douglas Gageby would surely have spotted the howler that suggested a “Mendacity Institute” was operating to deadly effect on the Dublin Quays in 1916! – Yours, etc,
