Madam, - The Taoiseach is to be congratulated on securing agreement on the drafting of the EU Constitution. However, what this country needs now is not a master of equivocation but a decision-maker. We need someone capable of leading a government that will actually do something about our poor health service, inefficient public transport and under-funded education system, to name just some of the areas in dire need of action.
The kudos gained from "the best EU presidency ever" shouldn't blind the Government to the anger felt by the people at the poor state of our public services. Decisions have to be made that may be unpopular with the fat cats but for which the people are crying out to be taken so that every sector of society can benefit from our recently acquired wealth. - Yours, etc.,
