Sir, - A stroll down the streets of Dublin is an enlightening experience these days. Next time you are in Chatham Row, keep an eye out for a restaurant named after arguably the most efficient mass murderer of the 20th century, Chairman Mao. His "Great Leap Forward" of the 1950s was responsible for the deaths of at least 40 million people, the majority of whom died by starvation. Under the baleful gaze of the chairman himself (colourfully rendered), patrons are served fine food by shiny, happy people. This bitter irony would appear to be completely lost on the restaurant's affluent diners.
If so, anything goes. I eagerly await the arrival of a Hitler Hamburger House, a Mussolini Mussel Bar - and why not a Pol Pot Pizzeria?-Yours, etc.,
