Sir, - The way in which Dublin Corporation, Dublin Port Authority and the County Council brought about the application for the infill was underhand and devious.
Having lived in Clontarf all my life, I am outraged at the proposed-52 acre infill. It will have a detrimental effect on an already struggling ecosystem. We should be discussing plans to improve the natural amenities rather than annihilating them. I have always enjoyed the fishing and water sport activities in Clontarf and I was beginning to have respect for Dublin County Council for starting plans to breach the causeway.
The view of Dublin Bay is already blocked by eyesores such as the smoke stacks. We should be trying to improve it rather than further obstructing it. - Yours, etc.,
