Madam, - The members of the GAA task force seem determined to hasten the demise of Gaelic football. They have ignored the obsessive hand-passing, the incessant jersey-pulling, the virtual disappearance of high fielding and the dismal quality of free-taking.

Instead their priorities are to allow players to lift the ball off the ground and give goalkeepers plastic tees for kick-outs. No doubt their next report will recommend stilts for midfielders.

Surely the real objective should be to develop the magnificent skills of authentic Gaelic football, not to create this mongrel alternative. Banish these "reformers" to the sideline. - Yours, etc.,
