Madam, - Since Ciaran Dolan of the ICMSA (November 21st) choose to comment on my article of November 19th apparently without reading its content fully, may I again reiterate my views on the access issue?

In my article, I clearly stated that there is no obligation on Irish landowners to allow public admission and went on to say that a legally imposed solution to the access problem would almost certainly prove "divisive and unworkable".

The belief that there is no constitutional impediment to crossing private land was mistakenly cited by Mr Dolan as my view, when clearly it represented the opinion of a sub-committee appointed by Minister O'Cuív. - Yours, etc,

JOHN O'DWYER, Thurles, Co Tipperary.
