Madam, - Over the years my family and I have had many wonderful vacations in Ireland. Now, however, we are completely baffled by the lack of access to walks we had previously enjoyed. Here is but one example of what we came up against this August.
As we were going across a field to reach the Cliffs of Moher, a farmer yelled at us to get off his land. When I explained to him that down the road was a signpost pointing the way to the cliffs he said he didn't care and wanted us out. And so we left.
Whatever happened to Ireland of the welcomes? - Yours, etc,
FIONA MORRISSEY, Kensington, Maryland, USA.
