Madam, - Your edition of September 13th contained two photographs of the Liam McCarthy cup being shown off - to a gathering of Cork supporters, many of them juveniles, and in a children's hospital.
In both cases, the cup was decked with ribbons advertising a brand of stout. The same edition carried a chilling article that explains how harmful alcohol is for children.
Is the GAA really obliged by its sponsorship arrangement with Guinness to allow this trophy of sporting excellence to be used as a vehicle for promoting alcohol to children? If so, that's one more reason why the GAA should terminate the sponsorship deal.
I say: give Guinness the red card! - Yours, etc,
