Madam, – May I compliment Fintan O’Toole on his article (Opinion, November 2nd). He has his finger on the pulse of the ordinary Irish person and says it as it is. Fianna Fáil has traditionally had its finger “on the pulse”, but examples such as our Government ministers driving into Farmleigh like lords, lead one to believe that our Government has lost touch with the Irish people.
The Irish people are willing to take pain but, before they do, they’ll want to see those dishing out the pain take it too! – Yours, etc,
