Sir, - I agree entirely with Declan Greehan (January 7th) about the Leopardstown Road development, particularly his comments on the tremendous granite walls that have been constructed.
The Southern Cross motorway passes directly through Knocklyon. This route will be the main Belfast-Rosslare carriageway, not to mention Dublin's primary ring road. No granite walls for Knocklyon, though, nor along the so-called "Green Route" passing through Ballyboden and parts of Rathfarnham.
Are the residents of Leopardstown Road paying some unknown local tax that the rest of us are unaware of? Or is the provision of fine granite walls location specific, for some reason? - Yours, etc.,
John A. Lahart, Orlagh Grange, Knocklyon, Dublin 16.
