Madam, - It is encouraging to read that the Minister for Tourism has seen fit to award €2.5 million in grants to fund walking and cycling routes in 50 locations around Ireland. Perhaps the Minister for Transport could now persuade Irish Rail to help cyclists to get to them.
Due to the removal of goods carriages in the new rolling stock, cyclists like myself are obliged to drive by car to the west and south to meet cars driven by other cyclists so that we can enjoy these pleasures together. - Yours, etc,
JUSTIN McKENNA, Adelaide Street, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.
