Madam, - Your hopeful report on homelessness is not echoed by those working with the homeless on the ground.
Our nearest homeless charity, "Trust" has never heard of the 12 new emergency hostels for single men that have been provided. Indeed, "Trust" which deals with people sleeping rough, has never had so many clients and wonder where the increased funding from €8 million to €24 million has gone.
At the root of this problem is the lack of agreement about what homelessness is and an acceptance of the fact that there will always be homeless people. - Yours, etc.,
