Sir, - With committees, tribunals and investigations proving (ad nauseam) that the "pillars" of Irish society have engaged in feathering their own nests at the expense of the ordinary schoolchild/hospital patient/pensioner/taxpayer, perhaps it is time that we dispensed with the "Tiger" analogy (noble beast, lord of the jungle etc.) to describe our economy and choose a more fitting creature. Might I suggest the term "Celtic Piranha" as being far more appropriate?
