Sir, - Your Editorial of November 12 wisely criticises the survival until now of the archaic hereditary system in the British House of Lords. Will you be making any similar judgement of the survival of the Irish hereditary system which regularly sees the unseemly scramble by relatives to stand for the "family seats" of recently demised TDs. - Yours, etc.,
