HIGH PRAISE FOR THE SPIRE

Madam, - I had the pleasure of seeing the Spire recently on my first visit to Dublin for many years. What used to be a drab, though historic, centre of our capital city is now transformed into a vibrant modern thoroughfare by a single stroke of genius. It at once gives O'Connell Street a sense of space and of unity.
