Sir, – I am trying to book a hotel in Dublin city centre for one night in the midweek to go to a concert in the National Concert Hall. I am horrified by the prices these establishments are charging, with nothing under €200 for a single room – and that’s without breakfast! Thinking about the tax concessions the hoteliers are all availing of, they must be laughing all the way to the bank at the taxpayers’ expense. Why have they all become so greedy again? – Yours, etc,
MARY BURKE,
Clonmel, Co Tipperary.
