Sir, - I am principal of a solicitors' practice in the Temple Bar area and I requested two additional business lines from Telecom Eireann on July 12th last. Six months have now passed and still no telephone lines!
Today, when I rang Telecom's Freephone line I was subjected to 15 minutes of music on hold. When I finally got through and mentioned the company's customer charter I was immediately cut off - the anonymous "assistant" clearly being unwilling to listen to any complaint.
It seems extraordinary to me that hundreds of millions of pounds of taxpayers' money have been poured into Telecom Eireann and yet it is still incapable of supplying two telephone lines in six months. - Yours, etc.,
