Sir, - Every year when the All Ireland Finals come around, it is the general belief that it is GAA policy to "look after" all All Ireland medal winners by giving them the option to purchase an All Ireland Final ticket.
As an All Ireland medal holder, with Tipperary, I would like to clarify the situation to you and your readers that this is only a myth. It is not GAA policy to do this, nor has it ever been. I do know of some counties where it is; however it is not policy in Tipperary, nor with the GAA as a whole.
I write this to express the disappointment and frustration experienced by me this year, and other years, in my efforts to obtain an All Ireland Hurling Final ticket.
Yours, etc.,
