Madam, - I am astounded at the minuscule fine of €1,000 imposed on the developer who illegally demolished the fine 19th-century Presentation Convent in Terenure (The Irish Times, September 26th).
No doubt he laughed all the way back to his bulldozer.
Unfortunately, this is only the tip of the iceberg as developers all over the country openly disregard planning conditions to suit their greedy needs. - Yours, etc,
