Sir, - The very word "army" means an armed force. Without arms, and the will to use them, even a soi-disant army is ridiculous. No wonder the IRA refuses to decommission.
As usual, priorities have been put back-to-front. What is required is the disbandment of that criminal organisation, dedicated to and guilty of violence and murder - the IRA. Until that happens lasting peace on this island is not possible. - Yours, etc., Michael Purser,
