Madam, - Having read one disparaging remark or another about the Spire almost daily for the past couple of years, it seems an apposite time to extend sincere congratulations to Mr Ian Ritchie. It is a work of genius.
I would go further: it is arguably the most significant, beautiful and uplifting civic structure to be erected in Dublin in over 100 years.
Only a few sculptures belonging to private collections (such as the works by Henry Moore and Arnoldo Pomodoro in Trinity College) might surpass it. - Yours, etc.,
