Sir, - It's sad to see that, after all the Troubles, we seem to have learned nothing about keeping discussions focused on the problem. Mgr Denis Faul - whom I respect - makes a case (October 5th) for religious education to be available and that this is a choice individuals and families should have. This I can agree with.
But why, then, does he add: "In Catholic schools, the integral Irish culture of Irish language, games, history, music and dancing is preserved and encouraged". This only implies there is a bigger agenda behind separate Catholic schools than that of preserving the Catholic ethos. - Yours, etc.,
