Sir, - Why, oh why do your correspondents and Kevin Myers (August 27th) feel a seasonal compulsion to keen and ochone anent the Irish litter "problem"? Everybody knows - well, I do anyway - that the Republic is no more litter-strewn than Britain or most of Europe. And the improvement in recent years, especially in country towns, has been remarkable.
